Bringing our awareness to the cycles of nature and change of seasons can help us deepen the understanding of our own life cycles.
As the sky grows darker entering fall, we start to turn inward and harvest what we planted in the spring and tended to in the summer.
The sun is setting earlier and rising later, the air will start to cool, and the leaves will begin to change their colors. We all have a time in our lives when we notice our own personal changes, and the change in seasons can help guide us to recognize the growth that we have experienced.
On Saturday September 22, 2018 equal day and equal night will usher in the Autumnal Equinox for the Northern Hemisphere, a perfect division of both the sunlight and the darkness. The first day of fall is a special occasion to take the time to look back over the past year to Spring and Summer. The sun moves into Libra, the sign of balance and harmony, and marks a tipping point of the Astrological Scales separating the first six signs of the Zodiac, in which we focus on individual needs, from the last six signs, in which we focus on the needs of others. The astrological new year started with Spring Equinox in Aries.
What seeds of intention did you plant and have been working on this year? What have you grown and cultivated in your life over the summer?
It was an intense summer, with six planets in retrograde forcing us to slow down and re-evaluate even our most basic needs; home, health, family, work, love, relationships, hobbies. The three eclipses may have pressured some of us to make major changes in different areas of our lives; relationships beginning or ending, changing or quitting jobs, moving and establishing new homes, or figuring out our true passions. It may have also allowed us the time to slow down, cultivate and nourish intentions we set in the spring. Many of us experienced transitions leading to new revelations about our strength, compassion, endurance, and love.
Change is ever constant not only in nature, but also in our lives and this fall is a time to harvest what we learned.
As we settle into the end of September, the energies have shifted considerably, the autumn months are the perfect time to reap what we have sown individually and then join with others as a community to bring in the harvest and enjoy it together. Libra, being a partner and relationship sign (family, friends, business, community, lovers and the like), helps us find the beauty and harmony in gathering together, supporting one another to set new intentions for the end of the year.
Join us at Shri Studios Saturday September 22 from 6:30-7:30pm for a very special Fall Equinox Celebration class.
This class is donation based. We will talk about the significance of the equinox, share a special mudra to remove obstacles for our new beginnings, breath together in balance breath, enjoy an all levels equinox flow, and then set new intentions for the change of seasons.
The only thing constant is change. As we grow, learn and transition from one phase to another, from one season to another, we take the time to celebrate our harvest and set new intentions.
